Hello,
We have encountered an issue with ATRESYS during the repack preparation step, specifically when archive routes and tape pools are being created automatically.
The error we get in the logs is the following:
[ERROR] [create_repack_ars_and_tapepools] Following exception occurs on tape V05489: 'supply'
The tape pool to which the tape belongs has the supply pool correctly defined.
Reviewing this issue, we see that the script attempts to read the supply pool directly using the “supply” key. However, it seems that in our current version of CTA, the JSON output from “cta-admin --json tapepool ls” no longer returns a “supply” key. Instead, it returns a “supplySource” key:
...
"comment": "Pool for vo-dteam.test1g",
"supplySource": [
"supply_dteam"
],
"supplyDestination": [],
"encryptionKeyName": "",
...
We are using CTA version 5.11.18.0-2 and CTA OPS tools version 3.8.3. We have also tested it with the latest stable CTA version (5.11.18.3-1) and CTA OPS tools version 3.8.5, and we observe the same issue.
Have you encountered this problem with ATRESYS? If not, could you let us know which versions you are currently running?
Many thanks for your help,
Esther
Hi @eacciong,
Thank you for this bug report.
You are right since the removal of supply key in cta-admin in CTA v5.11.1.0-1 version output atresys was never updated accordingly to use supplySource instead. I’ll fix in the new atresys tag 3.8.6.
With CTA v6, this kind of issues in the ops tools should not happen again.
Before you can install the 3.8.6 you can disable the automatic creation of these repack tapepools.
tools:
cta-ops-repack-automation:
enable_repack_archive_routes: true # <-- switch to false

Hi @idlarbi,
I’ve updated to the latest version of the tools (3.8.7), but I’m still running into the same issue. Did I do something wrong or miss a step?
Thanks in advance,
Alex
Hi @aguinofe,
Sorry for that, I was busy with higher priority subject on operations side.
You can go for 3.8.8 the fix is there. I have tested it on preproduction and it works.
Best regards,
Idriss

Hi @idlarbi,
Thanks a lot for the update!
I installed the new version, but during the prepare step, I ran into this syntax error:
[root@ctaadmin02-test ~]# cta-ops-repack-1-prepare -v V05490
