Just a quick question: what is the plan for the release of EOS (and CTA) that include support for tape operations with tokens (storage.stage and storage.poll in token scope) that were implemented in XRootD 6.0? In other words, are EOS and CTA 6 releases expected any time soon?

The most recent version of EOS 5.5 is the one that includes XRootD 6.0, and it already includes support for the storage.stage and storage.poll token scopes
If you want to test this version of EOS together with CTA it should work without issues, because all the token related changes are implemented on EOS code, instead of CTA.
However, as we are not yet using this version of EOS in our CI, so I can’t guarantee that it’s working perfectly.
I expect that we will be using the most recent version of EOS (the one the stagin tokens) in our CI by the end of August, but deployment in pre/production may only come later in the year.
For the next release of CTA, we are planning to remove the SSI CTA Frontend in favor of the gRPC CTA Frontend. It should be able to interact with EOS with minimal changes.
One possibility is to call this the CTA 6 version, but we haven’t made yet a final decision regarding that.
