Fermilab opened an issue on git lab: taped writing to log file continues to write to rotated log (#570) · Issues · cta / CTA · GitLab I forgot to bring it up during the dev meeting today. It was suggested to open it in the community forum.

Hi @snorberg1,
we’ve discussed this issue and are aiming to include the signal-handling-based solution for this in the next CTA release.

In the mean time, if it is causing issues for you, you may try to adjust your logrotate job to use the copytruncate option. That way old and new logs won’t be mixed, and cta-taped can continue writing to the same file. It is not optimal of course, but should work until the next release is ready.
